Even though we are currently unable to meet together as a congregation, the Lord still gives us the gift of worship. He calls us to delight ourselves in him as we seek spiritual rest on his holy day.

We encourage you all to seek the Lord together as families (or on your own) using the following liturgy. One person may lead by reading Scriptures and praying. Or, everyone may read together in unison.

Prayer of confession - Psalm 51:1-10

A word of grace and pardon - 1 John 1:9

Prayer of Thanksgiving and Supplication

Give thanks to the Father for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Pray for the Lord’s continuing work in your life, and in the lives of others. Pray to grow in faith, hope, and love. Pray for your family’s physical and spiritual needs and well-being. Pray especially for Sovereign Grace and the church in the midst of this uncertain time. The best way to do this is to use the Prayer List (emailed out to members).

Reading from the Old Testament - Habakkuk 3:17-19

Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,

Reading from the Gospels - Matthew 6:25-34

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Sermon Passage - Philippians 4:4-7

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Sermon: “What Godliness Looks Like today”

Point: Our Lord calls us to a distinctly Christian joy, gentleness, and rest, no matter how uncertain or distressing our days may be.

Outline: Godliness for today looks like:

Rejoicing as only Christians can
Being gentle in a Christ-like way
Fighting worry as a praying people
